ROAD NOTE #SICK

And so… I caught a cold.

The weather was fine but I couldn’t go out. I was staying with five other people and felt I had to isolate myself; I was couch-bound, slimy and very, very offended. Kränkt. I didn’t come to Berlin to snot and sneeze all over! I came to walk and explore and dance and meet people and, and…!

I somehow settled in for a long one, hoped that it would pass in five days so that I could get on the bus I’d booked for Köln and I did my best to let go of any ambitions. It turned out quite cozy. I called several friends who kept me company while I complained, read my book, doodled, drank tons of tea and listened to music and podcasts. I planned my trip and from time to time I just closed my eyes and rested. Came to terms with that this was going to be how I spent my time here in Berlin. Maybe I would at least be able to dance in Köln. I went to bed early.

Next day I woke up and was feeling allright again. Tested negative for covid and wondered if I had been a bit too dramatic. Or maybe I just really needed the rest.
